Maids of today

Maids

When a maid comes into you house for the very first time, you are worried, anxious, protective of your environment and if you have a child you are always on your toes wondering what she will be doing with your child. I have noticed that Maids in Kampala seem to think that deeply fried food is the way to cook, even when you tell them it isn't your lifestyle, they simply do what is fit for them...

This is what i mean: I have been with this lady maid for hardly a week, given instructions on what i expect her to do and how i do in my household but it seems she is finding it difficult to adjust. I have to repeat what I need more than twice, sometimes for the health of my family I have to go cook other food that suites us. She has children too but, when I left her for barely 20 minutes with my child, on my return I didn't like what I saw my child's face was filled with tears, in his mouth was a Sim card, his voice was hoarse. she never paid attention to him at all and this made me imagine the worst in case  i am away for a whole day.

What should one do in such a circumstance given the fact that the priority is the well being of a child, folks out there, any advice will be useful. Stay safe All!

New Opportunities

New Opportunities

It is very healthy to take a break from your career, what ever it is. It gives you room to think and plan carefully what your next move should be. People around you may take you for a fool for walking away from a seemingly paying job, but if it brings you heartache, just do it. It may take time to get used to the idea that you don't belong some where but have a focus on what you want to do with your career or life forth hence. You will be amazed by what you will find out about your capabilities. Good Luck for New Opportunities 2013!
